Business Analyst (f/m)

Network & Services International (NWI) develops, plans and builds the international network infrastructure of Deutsche Telekom (DTAG) and produces intercarrier and wholesale services for the sales units W-IC, B2B and IoT.

The unit/squad IDA – IP Digitalization & Architecture empowers our department International IP in its ambition to obtain a digital production.

As an Architect you help choosing and implementing IT solutions. You will work together with highly acclaimed IT professionals and business stakeholders. You will evaluate, design, prototype and implement IT solutions which fit the business and comply with the applicable (enterprise) architecture.

We are looking for an enterprise architect who chooses the IT for our IP network production. This business is subjected to converging networks and softwarization but also growing its footprint using virtualization.

What you will do

The general responsibilities of this position are:

  • Support our business teams in improving and automating their processes
  • Proactively analyze the business processes and develop radical ideas to simplify and digitalize them
  • Be a strong partner and guide our users through the analysis, solution design and implementation of improvements
  • Devising solution concepts for the development and improvement of applications taking into account the specific business requirements
  • Evaluating the business model or the requirements and how they can be integrated into technology solutions, and assessing the technological options for implementation (bridge between business and technology)
  • Analyzing requirements taking into account the specific business requirements and implications; devising and coordinating the business/process model in the task area
  • Clarifying the prerequisites for the operation and use of current interfaces to stakeholders
  • Preparing technical design documents (e.g., functional specifications) and cost / benefit analyses
  • Functionally steering the implementation of solution concepts (business requirements); in this context, close collaboration with software engineers
  • Analyzing existing processes and systems in order to identify and evaluate possible optimizations in terms of costs, efficiency, and effectiveness in the complex task area
  • Developing concepts for holistic process maps with the aim of digitizing IT processes in a complex task area
  • Identifying weaknesses or gaps in processes and resolving these problems taking new technologies into account
  • Preparing and updating process and quality documentation
  • Designing and implementing measures regarding process compliance
  • Managing complex projects

Required knowledge and skills

Must-have

  • University degree preferably in computer sciences or related field or several years of experience in business analysis, IT solution design, process analysis or software engineering
  • Knowledge in modern IT stacks (CI/CD, cloud native, on and of premises infrastructure etc.)
  • Experience in network- and communication technologies
  • Profound knowledge in requirements engineering, software design, automation and cloudification
  • Proven track record of hands-on involvement in software development projects involving modern frameworks and higher programming languages
  • Working proficient English (at least C1 level)
  • Ability to develop and communicate long-term technology strategies that align business objectives with emerging network technologies.
  • Intercultural competence and effective communicator
  • Experience with OSS/BSS or NMS systems
  • Reading and understanding German, maybe even speaking

Nice-to-have

  • Softwarization, virtualization and orchestration know how in IP network production
  • Experience with AI integrations
  • Experience with agile types of cooperation and DevOps culture and technology
  • Experience with modern collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Atlassian products)
